The mountains of old clothes are growing massively land are largely destroyed instead of being recycled and returned to the textile industry. Old textiles are a valuable raw material that can be easily reused. FBBasic is working with imat-uve, Texperium, C2C Expolab and Trützschler on an industrial solution for the recycling of old clothes made of mixed fibres. A German-Dutch consortium, supported by Interreg.
The recycled yarn is intented for auto seats but will eventually be used in other means.
By cooperation in the supply chain, a correct selection of used textiles and technological innovations in the preprocessing a fabric is made that lives up to the demands made by the automotive industry. A fantastic result as a temporary solution in our journey to the production of a fully circular fabric.
